Corralitos Bridge Widening

Situated in the historic town of Watsonville, this projects scope of work included a retrofit of the existing Westbound Lane on CA-152, adding ADA ramps, reconfiguring pedestrian crossing, Asphalt Cold Plaining, Polyester Concrete for the Bridge Deck, Barrier Slabs and Barrier Rail with Bicycle Railing.  The project was completed in August of 2023.

Route 680 Retaining Walls

Nestled in the Sunol Valley between Fremont and Pleasanton, this project consists of 3 Retaining Walls with lengths of 2,300, 3,300 and 900 foot stretches in the median of Interstate 680.  5,500 feet of wall will include Barrier Slabs, and all walls have Type 842 Barrier Rail.  As crews continue their fast production, Bridgeway’s scope of work is expected to finish near October of 2024.

Route 80 Vacaville to Fairfield

Our mission to build the bridgeway to the future of California’s infrastructure is best showcased through our latest I-80 toll lanes expansion project introducing two new lanes on I-80 through the addition of 5 new retaining walls and 4 bridge widenings – right in our hometown of Vacaville, CA!

This unique improvement project involves the retrofit and widening of a wide variety of bridge types including a steel girder bridge, a rectangular slab bridge, a precast bridge, and a T-beam bridge through the placement of 5,500 linear feet of CIDH piles and 1,260 cubic yards of concrete; The 5 new retaining walls will require placement of over 6,000 cubic yards of concrete.

Other components of this improvement project include the addition of 2,200 feet of soundwall and a ground anchor wall near the Ulatis Creek Bridge. This project package is set to be completed by winter of 2025 nearing almost 20 continuous miles of freeway improvement.

Sonoma and Marin County Bridge Repairs

Sonoma and Marin County Bridge Repairs

Located in both Sonoma County and Marin County, the project consists of three separate bridge structure with work occurring at each location. The two bridges located in Sonoma County required the work to be completed within a 45-calendar day work window for each structure. The three structures required extensive traffic control to be performed for the installation and management of 1-way traffic control throughout the construction work timeframe. The work performed consists of the demolition of outdated bridge barrier rail systems (1,630 total LF), Cast-In-Place concrete placement for the construction of Type 732SW and Type 836 Modified bridge barrier rails, installation of new chain link fencing and ornamental railing, installation of Carbon Fiber Reinforcing Polymer Strips to strengthen the existing bridge deck system, installation of Metal Beam Guardrail and new vegetation control concrete, and removal and replacement of HMA paving.

Napa County Bridge Repairs

Napa County Bridge Repairs

Located in Napa County, the project consisted of bridge rehabilitation work for 7 aging structures ranging in age from 50 years old to 100 years old. The work consisted of concrete spall repair, reinforcing steel repair and replacement, concrete crack repair, and debris removal. The work started in late August 2022 and was completed in October 2022

West Modesto Overhead Retrofit

West Modesto Overhead Retrofit

The West Modesto Overhead Retrofit project includes the widening and retrofit work for two bridges located in Modesto and Tracy. The Modesto bridge is located on SR 99 and spans across 9th St. This widening includes demolition and reconstruction of the exterior overhangs and concrete barrier, as well as slope paving at both abutments. The hinges on this bridge are seismic retrofitted to include pipe bolsters within the hinge diaphragms. The Tracy bridge is located on SR 5 and SR 33. This widening includes demolition and reconstruction to both the exterior and interior overhangs as well as the concrete barrier. The retrofitting includes the installation of casings on the existing columns, reconstruction of the joint seals and approach slabs, and slope paving extensions.

Route 205 in Tracy

Route 205 in Tracy Bridge Widening

Located in Tracy, CA along Rte. 205 from Corral Hollow Road to McArthur Blvd, this project consists of a Northbound Precast Box Grider Widening at Corral Hollow Road (70 CY of Concrete), a Southbound Cast In Place Box Girder Widening at Sugar Spur (Spanning over active Railroad Tracks and Canals) that includes Cast-In-Drilled-Hole Piling and Crash Walls (360 CY of Concrete), and two separate Retaining Walls and a Barrier Slab (Over 950 CY Combined.  Bridgeway’s scope of work is scheduled to begin April 2023 and completed by early 2024.

Route 70 Yuba Bridge Widenings

State Route 70 Yuba Bridge Widenings

This project is located on State Route 70 in Yuba County near Linda and Marysville from 2.4 miles South of Feather River Blvd undercrossing to the Yuba River Bridge and overhead. This project consists of two bridge widenings that span approximately 60 feet in length that required engineering jacking support to lower new structure in place using hydraulic jacking systems. This temporary structure kept the same vertical clearance throughout the construction phase to avoid impacts to traveling public. The widening required partial demolition of existing abutments, footings, and bridge curbs. Other items of work included to upgrade bridge railing with decorative concrete barrier, construct concrete median barrier, polyester overlay and new pavement roadway.

SR 84 Stonybrook & Alameda Creek Overhead Bridge

SR 84 Stonybrook & Alameda Creek Overhead Bridge

The project is located along multiple locations of SR 84/Niles Canyon Rd. from SR 238 to SR 680. The project consists of a new cast-in-place flat slab bridge that spans the Stonybrook Creek and demolition and overhang widenings at the Alameda Creek Overhead. The Stonybrook Creek bridge required 550 LF of cast-in-drilled-hole concrete pile, 470 CY of Concrete, a temporary creek diversion system to work in the Stonybrook Creek, falsework and excavation shoring. The Alameda Creek Overhead required temporary supports for the overhang and barrier rail demolition and also served as formwork for placing back the overhang. The overhang demolition and replacement of the Alameda Creek Overhead Bridge overhang was performed during multiple 55-Hour Full Road Closures. The work included 277 CY of Rapid Strength Concrete (RSC) over the Union Pacific Railroad, California ST-75 Bridge Railing, and Anchor Blocks at various locations of the bridge. Work began June 15th, 2021 and is scheduled to conclude the end of May 2022.

SR 680/SR 84 Interchange

SR 680/SR 84 Interchange

This project consists of 7 total bridge structures. Three of the bridges are new structures and consist of 1 flyover across SR-84, 1 pre-cast girder bridge, and 1 cast-in-place post tensioned box girder over Vallecitos Creek. The remaining bridges are widenings on, NB/SB SR 680 at Scotts Corner, SB SR 680 at Calaveras Rd, and NB/SB SR 680 at Koopman Rd. The project requires over 25,700 cubic yards of Concrete. Along with the 7 bridges, other elements include 20 Retaining Walls (single-sided and 2-sided retaining walls, Mechanically Stabilized Embankment Walls [MSE]), over 2.6 Million pounds of bar reinforcing steel, 142 Ground Anchors, over 23,000 LF of Driven Steel Pile, 580 LF of Cast-In-Drilled-Hole Concrete Pile, over 17,000 LF of Concrete Barrier Rail and partial demolition of 3 Bridge Overhang locations to widen the existing bridges (SB Rte. 680-Calaveras Rd, NB/SB Rte. 680-Scotts Corner, NB/SB Rte. 680-Koopman Rd.) . Contract was awarded in February 2021 and work began June 2021 and is scheduled to conclude and the end of the 2023 season.
