Wooden Valley Road MPM 2.75, 2017 Storm Damage Repair-Retaining Wall, Napa County, County Project # S7118-31180
This project, for the County of Napa required the roadway Rehabilitation for a minor landslide. Improvements include Structure Excavation, Cast in Steel Soldier Piles, Structural Concrete Retaining Wall, Roadway slide subgrade improvement, 2” Asphalt Concrete Pavement Overlay, new Metal Beam Guardrail and Cable Railing, and Permanent Erosion Control Measures. We proposed a revised construction method, using flaggers instead of temporary signals and k-rail, allowing the project to be open to two-way traffic every day. We also proposed a Value Engineering Change Proposal for changing the shotcrete requirements to cast-in-place structural concrete, thereby saving costs to the various stakeholders.
